A Client Needed $10,000 in $5, $10, and $20 Notes: A Real CoinPoint Case
A client needed $10,000 in small denominations — new and crisp. Here is why that is a hard request and how we arranged it.

A currency exchange may seem straightforward — until the client has specific requirements regarding denominations, the condition of the banknotes, or the collection date.
One of our clients needed $10,000 in $5, $10, and $20 notes. Every banknote had to be new, crisp, and undamaged.
Why the Request Was More Complicated Than It Seemed
At first glance, it may appear that the client could simply visit a cash desk and request the required denominations. In practice, large quantities of small US dollar notes are rarely available in one place.
Depending on the combination of denominations, $10,000 may consist of anywhere from 500 to 2,000 individual banknotes. Most banks, cash desks, and exchange services primarily hold $50 and $100 notes.
The condition of the cash created an additional challenge. The client did not simply need the correct denominations — the banknotes also had to be new and free from creases or visible damage.
How CoinPoint Handled the Request
Instead of immediately saying that the request was impossible, we first checked every available option.
The CoinPoint team:
- contacted cash supply partners and confirmed the availability of the required denominations;
- located the necessary number of $5, $10, and $20 notes in the requested condition;
- agreed on the timing and terms of the custom order with the client;
- arranged the preparation of the full amount.
A small deposit and an additional service fee were required to process the individual order.
The Result
A few days later, the client collected exactly what had been requested: the correct denominations, the required condition, and the full amount — with no substitution for larger notes.
This case shows that an unusual request is not necessarily an impossible one. Sometimes it simply requires more time, the right contacts, and an individually arranged process.
Unusual Requests Are More Common Than They Seem
Clients may need:
- only new or crisp banknotes;
- specific denominations;
- a large amount prepared for a particular date and time;
- cash in a specific city;
- several currencies within one transaction;
- a custom combination of currencies and collection options.
There may be no standard solution for such requests. This is why CoinPoint first reviews the situation, checks the available options, and only then provides a clear answer.
If the request can be completed, we will explain in advance how the transaction can be arranged, how long it will take, and what terms will apply.
Tell Us What You Need
At CoinPoint, each solution is tailored to the individual client. We do not reject an unusual request without first exploring the available options.
If you believe that no one can help, describe your situation to our manager. Include the city, currency, amount, preferred date, and any specific requirements regarding the cash, and we will check what can be arranged.
